In Beverly this week a quick update from Norrie
Today was the Farmer’s Market, and again, it was great. I scored fresh raspberries (which are gone, natch), locally raised beef hot dogs (the perfect antidote to a week of veggie dogs), crabcakes from the sassy gentlemen from Rowans, and some multigrain bread. We also enjoyed some banjo and guitar music, and hit up Bootstraps (open late on Mondays during Farmer’s Market Season), and got another amazing vintage pillow case. While there are lots of fruits and veggies at the Beverly Farmer’s Market, there are a lot of other things ..
Wednesday brings the Beverly Gran Prix. If you haven’t been, check it out. Events for kids on the commons, free valet bike parking, and a chance to win a new bike. Don’t drive downtown, hop on your bike and check it out!
Thursday is the next installment of the concerts on the commons…bring a picnic blanket, snacks, and your dancing feet…

Community Giving Tree will be collecting baby and kids clothing and gear (have a pack and play, want to give it to a great cause…) at Beverly Bootstraps on Saturday. If you are heading to Artsfest, drop some stuff off before you pick some new stuff up!

City of Salem and the MBTA is hosting a free hazardous waste drop off on Saturday (there is a $35/lb charge for TV’s) and if you want to recycle bulk toys, etc, you can bring them!

Happenings for May 19-20th
1.Travel out to the annual Long Hill Plant Sale (starts at 10AM, early entry for Trustees members)! In Beverly, it is such a beautiful spot to check out, and they have an amazing children’s garden! Besides lovely ornamental plants, the Food Project will also be selling veggie seedlings! Support good causes and get beauty and healthy!
